The Tibet Flag, introduced in 1912 by the 13th Dalai Lama, symbolizes unity and rich cultural heritage. The central snow mountain represents Tibet, the Land of Snow Mountains. Six red rays radiate from a golden disk, representing the six original tribes of Tibet: Se, Mu, Dong, Tong, Dru, and Ra.

The flag features two snow lions holding a wheel with a Ying Yang symbol, signifying spiritual energy. Above the Ying Yang are the three jewels of Buddhism: Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. The colored jewel symbolizes the equal enjoyment of freedom and prosperity by all Tibetans.

The red bands against the blue sky signify the original ancestors and spiritual protection. The white triangle represents the Himalayan Mountains, and the rising sun symbolizes equality. The snow lions depict fearlessness and unity in secular values, while the yellow border symbolizes the spread of Buddha's teachings.

The extra small to medium size flag have a side to slide a dowel rod into while the large size has grommets, used for securing the flag to a pole.
