This hand-painted orange color wooden box has Cheppu on the front, a mythical figure in Nepali and Tibetan culture, is a protective guardian often depicted with fierce, watchful eyes and is believed to ward off evil and safeguard sacred spaces. And the box has a matte finish.

These beautiful large Tibetan boxes are hand crafted by one of the Newari Communities of Bhaktapur Nepal, The Prajapatis. After the wooden box is complete, it is then hand painted by the Buddhist community of Tamangs in Kathmandu Valley. It takes upto 3 days to complete one box.

The vibrant colors, auspicious symbols of Tibetan Buddhism, beautiful designs and detailed paint-work makes this box special and decorative.
